Just rebuilt ignition and have good spark on both cylinders. Need some advice on priming. Have tank of fresh gas and can see the new fuel in glass filter (the first one).

Should I disconnect fuel line at point that it enters engine and squeeze hose bulb to clear any air?

Tested first with starting fluid, starts right up fine with starting fluid.

Thanks

spray some gas/oil mix in the carb throat, close the choke and give it a go...lower needle <main> 3/4 turn from light seat..top needle <low speed mix> 1 1/2 turns out from light seat is a good starting point..

Thanks, will try tonight. Only have one knob next to choke knob, Labeled Lean to Rich by turning knob. Since it starts fine with starting fluid, needles are probably good now.

And don't use starting fluid. It has no lubrication in it

Seem to be having a problem getting gas to carburetor. Should I remove spark plugs and keep turning over motor to move fuel through carburetor?

it won't hurt anything and may lube the piston skirts to increase "suction" in the process...put a couple of fingers over the carb throat as you pull it through and try to detect some suction

pull the plugs, put a few drops of fuel oil mix in each cly, replace the plugs. start it, and repeat if it dont run. as others have said.....starting fluid isnt a good option!!!! trouble shoot from the beginning....read the top secret files at the top of this thread.

Thanks, the starting fluid has cylinder lubrication in it. The carburetor does not seem to be getting any fuel. It seems fuel is not getting past the first filter with the glass bowl. I think the carburetor float bowl is empty. Both cylinders have very good compression.

go to marineengine.com and find the schematic of your motor. Under carb, look at part no.59, the drain screw..remove it and pump your primer bulb and fuel should pulse out

Lots of folks, myself included, have removed the stock stone-like filter that come in the glass bowl style carbs of this era and swapped them for modern in-line fuel filters installed after the fuel pump.

Thanks, will try that, there is now fuel and fuel pressure all the way to carburetor. Will remove that plug and check for fuel in the carburetor.
