need some advice lower unit oil found metal particles

hi there my boat is a 1979 mercruiser with a alpha one outdrive, I change my water pump impeller and base on my lower unit and when I drain the oil out of the lower unit I see a lot of metal particles on the oil, I change the oil put everything back and run the engine, drain the oil again out of the lower unit and again was full of little metal particles what this means? what can I do thanks.

Dissassemble the drive, and inspect the parts. Gears, bearings, shafts, everything.
You will see where the problem is.

The best advice you will get!

A little bit of metal dust on the drain plug magnet is normal but what you describe is a sign of really bad things to come if you keep running it.
