I was given an old Sea-Bee 5 horsepower outboard yesterday. Model number is 225 3613. It doesn't run, but has compression. I pulled the flywheel off today and the coils are shot. Is there a source that carries parts for these old motors?

Your motor is a 57.Built by the Gale devision of OMC.
If it is a full gearshift F N R it may share parts with the similar E/J 5.5 hp.Routine parts may be available right here at iboats.as well as a well established E/J dealer.
and a number of other places.

Thanks for the advice so far. As you can see, the motor was made by the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. This motor doesn't have a gear selector.

It has come to my attention that Gale made outboards for other companies like GoodYear and Montgomery Wards. If that's the case, would the coil from a 5.5 E/J be a direct match for this motor?

Yep it's a 57, and direct drive...no gear shift. Does it have a Forward-Neutral lever? No matter...since it's a 57 it should use the universal magneto and parts that OMC went to in 55. In other words, coils, condensors, points should be same for all 5 hp's made under the OMC banner, Johnson/Evinrude/Gale. I did a 54 Sea King 5 hp once and I think all the stuff on the mag plate cost me less than $50 from Sierra Marine. Been a coupla years though.

Price it up with Iboats. Coils are something like $17, points/condensor kit something like $14. A few feet of spark plug wire can't cost more than $7 (if you need it).
