Need Prop Help

I have a 16'6" bass/ski boat (deep V) with a 50 horse Honda 4 stroke. I had the prop just right as I was running about 5400 rpm at WOT until I added the weight of a new trolling motor and battery (over 100lbs). Now the rpms are at about 4700 and I've dropped about 4-5 mph. Would changing the prop be reccommended at this point?

I am currently running an aluminum C3x11x15 prop. I also own a C3x11.1x13 prop. Will the 13 prop give me better rpms and hopefully mph? Thanks.

Theoretically, going from a 15p down to a 13p you sould pick up about 400rpms.

c/6

Hooty

Am I correct in thinking I should pickup a little more speed with the 13P also?

jgun
Drop down to the 13" to get the RPM's back up to where they should be. You probably will regain some of your lost speed, too.

I think I would be a little concerned if adding
as little as 100 lbs cost you 700rpm.
I would wonder about a weight distribution problem or motor trim.Your fifty should hardly notice 100 lbs.You may want to run the 13" pitch
for skiing and such but to counter 100 lbs.
I dont think so.
