Looks like a piece of trim from maybe a Honda. Dunno model/serial.

My best guess, assuming that's a Honda (35-50hp?). is it's just a gasket designed to minimize wear/rattling of the plastic cover located right above that hose. Impossible to replace (in one piece, as designed) without pulling the engines mid section, which requires pulling the lower unit.

However, if you wanted to keep the engine in top notch condition, you could remove that plastic cover (not hard) and glue that gasket in place around the bottom of it, then reinstall. Or, I think a lot of people will just ignore the fact there USED to be a gasket there... The ones I've had apart are about 50/50 with/without that gasket. I don't reinstall them or get new ones if they are missing. That's me though...

Good morning and Happy Memorial Day. I just bought this boat and want to really stay on top of this engine. You mentioned that it’s easy to take that plastic cover off , can you explain further I don’t really know this motor well yet,and you mentioned reinstalling with glue. What product would you use as far as the glue goes. Thanks for your info , I feel alittle better , I was stressing this . Enjoy the day

I haven't worked on one that size, but it should be similar. Take a good look at it. There's 2 screws in front, then maybe 6 plastic rivets located around the top. With those removed, it comes off like a collar when slid to the rear.

Once the gasket and cover are cleaned and free of oil or or other contaminants, some CA or trim adhesive should hold it in place for a long time.

With your advice and some help from a friend, I got the job done today.
Thanks again
