need new prop

would like a little more speed, im running a 50 hp johnson, prop on there now is the one that came with boat and motor, but works well its just beat up now, any way ...92 50 hp johnson, using 11 3/4 x 17 boat runs about 33mph and 5500 rpms....thanks for any imput.

That is the correct prop - it is dead on. The best you could hope for is to step up a degree or two in pitch (19), and see if you get any increase. Your RPM will drop about 200 RPM for every inch of pitch (theoretically). This COULD give you a little more on top, but may drop the RPM significantly enough to negate any gains you might get from a pitch increase.<br /><br />At least that is the theory...
