Need More POWER Scotti

I have a 5 hp Nissan 2 stoke and somewhere i was told that if you drilled out the exhaust ports you could gain a little more power (more exhaust out, more air in). If this is true, does anyone know the procedure? Or any other little tidbits to increase power? Thx!

You can play with a lot of things and eek out another 1/2Hp, but you won't gain anything noticable and you'll reduce it's reliability. Not an acceptable trade-off in my book.

Without the ability to add a properly tuned high performance exhaust pipe the increase in power from your 2 stroke will be minimal.<br /><br />Properly designed 2-stroke exhaust pipes can help work magic on machines like motorcycles, snowmobiles, etc. Our 'thru the housing' exhaust porting really puts a crimp on hotrodding 2 stroke outboards.
