Need info on serial numbers

I recently bought a Mariner 115HP and a Mercury 115HP, but I don't know what years they are. The Mariner serial number is 6527950, and the Mercury is 4117155. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

The Merc is a 1975, the Mariner is 1984.<br /><br />Chris...........

Hi Achris<br />Please can you help me with a year for a Mariner 55EL, On plate it has 663 next box L below 319630.<br />Is there a formulas that can decifier the No's to work it out ?.
