I recently bought a used Seaway 17, built someplace in the Northeast (Rhode Island maybe?). Is the company still in business ? It has a fuel tank under the deck, does anyone know the capacity of the tank ? The boat has not been used for 2 years, unknown sludge and water may be in the tank (no drain). Any suggestions on how to clean it ? Is a filter/water separator really good enough to protect the engine (Tohatsu outboard) ?

They were built in the backwoods of Maine! I have two friends they're brothers and they each bought a 19' Seaway Center Console in the early eighties. These were very well constructed hulls and neither had any problems. The 19 footers were round chines and I think that 17' is a v hull. Just want to let you know I think you have a very well constructed boat!

I have a seway boat also. Its a 19ft center console 1983. would love to hear more about this boat. I am doing over the bottom. I am sanded it and painting it. There are a few gouges i am patching. I am going to to put a deck plate in to get access to the foam filled hull. Any advice??
