I used to have the traditional PVC like trailer guides on my trailer. But, I moved into a new house w/ a great new 3 car garage (tandem style with 2 garage doors and 1 bay 2 cars deep). BUT, one big problem... the boat only fits in there literally by 1/2" on each side of the trailer tires. That's with my trailer guides taken off.

I originally installed them mostly so I can see the trailer with the boat off of there. I tow with a suburban and can't see it when I backing up straight, so I can see if I'm starting to turn it...

Any ideas on a way to have a quick removeable guide or somethign I can see when backing up?? I was thinking about somethink like those orange soccer flags that mark a soccer field out of bounds. But how would I attach that temporarily to the trailer??

I'm thinking along the lines of something magnetic. I've seen some magnetic guide poles before, but I'll be darn where. I'll look around and post them if I find them...

year ago my dad attached a broom stick to the rear roller you put it up when backing and the bow would know it down. it worked great til it rotted off and then mom lost another broom.

Head to your local hardware store and buy two fiberglass rods. They are about three or four feet long and used to mark driveways, hold up climbing plants and an assortment of other uses. Drill a hole in the trailer frame the diamter of the rod. Put a clamp around the rod and drop them in the holes when needed. Cheap and effective and they won't rust.
