Need ideas for transom saver

I'd like to use a transom saver on my classic 1959 runabout & trailer but the rear of the trailer frame is a foot or so forward of the boat transom. I'd appreciate some good ideas of how to hook up a transom saver for this ole transom. If I weld an extension onto the trailer frame then I've spoiled the trailer as a classic...

Thanks to all, Marty

Hi Jim; Cool... I've never seen that one. It looks like it should work fine. Many thanks, Marty

Using any of the transom savers listed in the previous post will work fine. I understand that you don't want to drill a hole in the X-member to receive the TS. So how about a plate with a hole in it secured to the X-member with a couple of U-clamps. I believe in the TS fully

Re: Need ideas for transom saver

Great idea snowshoe. I ordered the adjustable TS that Jim mentioned. It looks like just the ticket... I'll be using it on two different trailers, one with a traditional square metal X-member, and one with a round "pipe type" X-member. I had sorta resigned myself to drill one hole in the square trailer for the TS (since I'll be using it soon) but I hadn't thought of a solution for the round one. Now that you mention it, I could use U-bolts for both trailers and not have to drill any holes in either trailer. Many thanks for the great idea...
