my new old old boat, is a 1986 glascon 15.5 footer, with a 73" beam, 34" depth,
and weighs 1400 lbs with 5/20 gallons of fuel and gear but no people.
the motor is a 1984 merc 115 in-line 6 -- 2 stroke, with a 13.25 x 17p black max prop.
the fellow i bought it from owned it 6 months (thank god), because the speedo was unhooked and tack was inop. ( have repaired those 2 items.)
no maintenance was performed, and it wasnt winterized, just parked to freeze.
i rescued her and parked inside warm shop.
So i have zero idea how quick it is, nor do i know what top speed is.
THE question at hand is....
i want 2 props, one for all out, top speed performance,
and one prop for tubing/wakeboarding.
in all ive read, the 17 doesnt seem to be a speedy one, but im thinking it may be a decent all-round unit. (which ill use as a spare.)
since the boat is so light, my instinct would be about a 12.5x23 for all out......
and a 19p 4 blade, for daily duty. now keep in mind i havent been boating in 20 years so im as rusty as they come.
ive attached a couple pics to help you all get an idea what kind of craft i have as Glascon is no longer in business, and was a canadian company.
any comments would be appreciated.
ALSO, will props that fit 135hpand above fit my motor? notice they take same hub kit.

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,.... Cool lookin' boat....

Until ya Run it, 'n come up with at least the Rpms at Wot,....
EVERYTHING is a Guess...

Ya want yer all-round prop to peak out at, or very near the top rpms listed for the motor...

In order to get yer "one for all out, top speed performance,",...
You probably should be lookin' at specialty SSteel wheels...
Somethin' like a cleaver for stern lift, or big-eared, hi-rake for bow-lift, dependin' on how that cute little rocket, Rides, 'n handles...
Which again's gonna require some Seat Time...

ah seat time...just like taking my street car to the strip.......which has double the hp to weight ratio of this boat.
something i just noticed, the boat tag says its rated for 67 KW, or 90 HP.
in the glove box was the 1st owners original bill of sale, and vessel registration; seems this trailer, boat and motor came this way new.
1984 trailer (built dec of '83), 1984 motor (as per merc serial on motor and on bill of sale), and 1986 boat, bought in spring of 1985. date of mfg is not on boat.
i guess thats one reason the manufacturer is bankrupt 4 years ago. putting a 115 on a boat rated for 90 by transport canada.
no cracks in the back end tho....phewww.

not to mention, i scaled the boat ,motor, and trailer, and its 20 lbs overweight for the tires on it. the spare is adequate.
the trailer is rated for 10 lbs less than i calculate the boat to be base on trailer tag info.
talk about some people cutting things too close.
