Hi I am new to the forum. I was given a 1978 Hammond el dorado 1950 that I have restored. Now I am not getting power to the tilt switch next to the throttle. The trim switch works. I replaced the silinoids but when I press the tilt up or down I don't get a clicking sound or anything. There is a little red light that comes on next to it when there is power but that has not come on. The weird part is that it looks like all the switches are hooked to the same power so I do not know why it would not be getting power when the other switches work fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Underneath there are red, purple, blue, green, and a grey wire that go to the switch if this helps..

Re: Need help

You're going to have to get your test light or multi meter and figure out where the power stops flowing.

Are you getting power at the solenoids? I'm not sure how many you have on a '78, but on my '72 there are a total of 6 between the trim, tilt and start.

Re: Need help

There are two for up and down I believe and one for the starter. Then there are two for the trim I think. they are located on a different part of the motor.

And yes there are getting power. When I bypass the switch they work fine. There are just a bunch of wires connected to the switch and I can't find a wiring diagram for this boat.
