I'm new at this boating thing, but the motor I have is a 85hp mercury. When you try to go it's like it has no power to go. Anybody have a idea on what possible problrm is
Hi, Jay.<br /><br />You need to supply a lot more info if we are going to be any help.<br /><br />How long have you had this engine?<br /><br />What year is it?<br /><br />Did it ever run well for you?<br /><br />What have you done to learn about other engines with similar problems here on the board?<br /><br />What have you done to try to identify your problem?<br /><br />Do you have a manual?<br /><br />Have you tried pumping you primer bulb when the engine is misbehaving?<br /><br />Does it start and idle okay?<br /><br />Have you checked to see if all cylinders are getting a hot, blue spark?<br /><br />Does the engine speed up, but the boat wont go, or does the engine refuse to speed up?<br /><br />Let us know.
