guys i need a tech who can rebuild a v8 dr. yamaha sterndrive .or some one who might have one ???ill cross myfingers

Ayuh,... If you can't get Help from Nelson Marine,... You're pretty much SOLuck...

There are also a couple of used ones on ebay. Probably better to rebuild. Like bondo says, contact Ken.

What is it you are trying to overcome? It may just be a simple matter of tinkering with a socket set, or it could be a total rebuild. Any more info?

well its like this had it wide open and bam floating like a duck on water so i need gears bearing on and on!! ok so let me run this by you,i afriend has an old v6 with a merc outdrive,does the old transom assembly bell housing and everything else swap out to a new v8 outdrive? ive got quotes for a complete refit with all parts for 2800.00 with no labor for alpha 1 or a complete bravo x for 5500.oo installed .

Ayuh,... Junkin' a Donor Boat, then Swappin' it all over Yourself is what most of Us around here do....
That way you get ALL the little pieces that drive the co$t$ through the stratosphere...

The transom hole is Mercruiser standard...

ok, if you need yamaha parts let me know im pulling all of it out dam shame i know the lower unit is good but all thats left of the upper is the case and the ujoint assembly or drive assem. everthing else is like new

Be sure to remember the screwing Yamaha gave to all their i/o customers whenever you consider buying a motorcycle or outboard.
What they did is damn near criminal.

Ayuh,... ebay it, there's guys out there Trying to keep 'em runnin'....
Use the proceeds to buy the Donor Barge...

It was a result of Lawsuits from Mercruiser, I believe....

Yamaha is still present in markets Other Than North America...

You might save yourself some cash if you find a good Alpha transom and put a brand new SEI drive on it. Certainly less than a Bravo or new Alpha.....
