Need help with tube fitting.

I need some help ASAP.

I have a 1998 60 hp Yamaha. There is a rubber tube running fron the lower unit up and over the power trim and tilt unit. It has become unconnected at the top of the tube. I assume this is a water pick up tube and connects somewhere but can’t find where. It almost looks like a plug in the end I’m speaking about. Anyone know where this connects or is it ok to leave alone unconnected. Pics attached.

Looks like the speedometer pickup tube.Is the thing you're referring to as the plug open or is it plugged? Is there another hose coming from the front of the lower unit that may be the pickup tube?

It is plugged and I have no speedometer, so that may be it. It does have a broken faster on the end but no where to plug in. I think your right. Thanks.
