need help with trim

I just got a brand new pt130 cmc trim unit the problem is is wont line up with the holes on my tohatsu m40d what do i do? should i have got the pt35 but it is only rated for 35hp? this really burns me me i should be fishing by now.also how do you determine what holes to use anyway.it is a long shaft. how low should the prop be from bottom of the boat..

The Tohatsu hole pattern is the same as every other outboard. Hole usage is determined by trial and error as well as by looking at where the cavitation plate rests relative to the bottom of the hull.

interesting about the hole spacing. my pt35 didn't have any holes on the outboard side. the holes in the side that goes to the transom matched perfectly to the bolt pattern from previous mount holes for a 40hp yamaha. i had to drill holes in the motor mount plate. mine is about 3 yrs old.
