I have a used stainless prop on my '83 imperial v182 with a 2.5 i4. The only markings on it are "Palmer 4676v". Does anyone know what this is? I purchased it a few years ago used and if I remember right, it is a 21" pitch prop. but I am not sure. My grandchildren are getting big enough to tube; but this prop is obviously too large for my boat. When I pull the tube at full throttle, the boat will not plane and the engine will not rev more than 2900 rpm. I don't mind buying a new prop., I just want to get it right the first time. Any help would be very much appreciated..... :)

If you get us the information requested in the stickys at the top of the the prop forum we can help you.
Have you looked for numbers near the base of the blades or in the area under the prop nut.
As you say if its a 21 it is likely too much for your 2.5.

The boat is 18feet long, weighs about 2200 pounds, has a mercruiser 2.5 inline four cylinder, and what I posted is all the markings on the prop. I was pretty sure it was too big, because only under perfect conditions (calm water, clean hull, me only in the boat) could I make the boat get close to rated wot rpm. With my GPS, I could go 38mph under ideal conditions.
