Need help with part name

Hi Gang,

I feel like an idiot posting this, but am trying to find a part for my transom ladder online but haven't come up with anything even close. The part is a simple nylon u-shaped thingy that holds the ladder up while under way.

I've goodled everything i can think of but with no luck at all. I'm sure a rubber one could work but i can't even find that.

Anyone have any ideas

I don't know the name of the "thingy", but seems a strap or bungy cord arrangement might work fine. My telescoping boarding ladder uses a woven nylon strap with a simple snap fastener to hold up the ladder when not in use.

thanks - i was considering a velcro strap, but since we use the ladder a lot when water skiing, it would be a bit less convenient. The nice thing about the nylon "thingy" is that anyone can just flip up the ladder and away we go. We don't like to leave the ladder down when running as it causes a lot of spray.
