Welcome to the iboats.com forum. The experts here, which I am not, can help you with any issue involving your boat, motor and trailer. According to the chart I could find, your motor requires Champion J6C spark plugs gapped at .030inch. See the link below:

http://www.boatsetup.com/SparkPlugChart.pdf

Since your motor is a post-1964 model, it can use a 50:1 gas/oil ratio. The oil should be two-cycle, watercooled specifications, TC-W3. The "3" designates third generation products as "1" and "2" are not sold anymore. A lot of the members swear by the synthetic oils for less smoke but just make sure it is TC-W3. I have a 1973 model. Good luck with that great old motor!

Thank's for all the help--on the spark plugs we went over the motor looking for more info and found an original sticker which listed these plugs for this motor--champion-J4J, AC-M42K, Autolite-A21X,------is the Champion J6C a replacement for those older plugs ?????

Thank's

Newer Champion plugs are:
J4C - General use
J6C - Low speed/trolling(hotter plug)
