I just bought a 35 hp merc. with the serial no# 08149149 and need some help with the year. Also, i'm kinda new to outboards and have no idea what the fuel/oil ratio is for it. And when i tried to start it i think it was reved up to much and i almost blew it up, can anyone tell me which way i turn it to make it low on power when i crank. I know i sound dumb cause i am motor dumb.I haven't brought it out to the water yet and i don't wanna be on the dock and it's reved up and we all fly off the and sink it all. lol, I have a 14ft light boat it should hum it. Any help would be great!!! Thanks
