i replaced the crank seals in the right engine of my '97 yamaha exciter. that engine now runs good, however. the right engine now fires with a turn of the key but immediatly looses spark. can anyone give me some tips on what direction to head? i check the teather, kill switches, and obvious connections.

im not too good with the newer motors, im guessing that your coils/ point/condernsers are worn, might have enough juice to start but not enough to run it. check those, of not look for a worn wire causing it to partally arc out to the head or else where, also try to disconnect your kill switch, you can always unplug the gasline to shut it down or pull the plug wires off.

let me know what happens ill do some research into this but im thinking its a minor electrical prob

i know it has only coils, both internal and external. i don't believe they would act in that manner though. the left engine does the same exact thing when i pull the tether off, so maybe i have a short somewhere in that circuit?
