Hi buddy99,<br /><br />>model #'s on the tag are 2601 and d-12655.<br /><br />I do not know if this will help but for Suzuki the model year is determined this way:<br /><br />a) In a serial number like my Suzuki DT65 that has 06502-131863 it is like this<br />that "1" is the year it was made (1981, 1991 etc, mine is a 1991 by the way) and the following numbers 31863 the "engine number".<br /><br />b) Between 1975 and 1979 the year is determined by "year-letter" before the engine number this way:<br />A=1975, B=1976, C=1977, D=1978, F=1979<br /><br />So maybe your engine is made for example 1981 or 1991 if you interpret (d-)"1" as the year it was made OR if going by the "d" it should be a 1978. My best guess would be to go by the "d" and so it should be a 1978. <br />Does that sound reasonable?<br /><br />All I can say for sure is that above is the way it is on "Suzuki".<br />Also the color of a later "Suzuki" outboard will help tell what year it may be made:<br />Blue engine: 1980-1982<br />Light grey engine: 1983-1988<br />Grey: 1989-1996<br /><br />/Bo
