Need help with ID on a 6hp Johnson. Has odd Model Number

Help!! I have a 6hp Johnson outboard with a Model # CD 23-E & Seriel# J2661829. These are the numbers on the tag on the clamp bracket. It's the aluminun tag held on with 2 tiny bolts. Can't find this number anywhere. Is it an export motor maybe or for the military?

CD-23 is a '66 6hp. The E is just a model code. It's not meaningful to us.<br />Johnson has gone through at least three model number styles. That's the first style, then there's the '69-'79 easy to read style, and then there's the '80- 'INTRODUCES' letter code system.
