Need Help with Honda Motor

7.5 Honda Motor runs fine with engine cover<br />off. With engine cover on, it dies off within 10 seconds. Neighbor said maybe an<br />air starvation problem. Please help..need on what problem is and how do we fix it.

Lyne,<br />There was a discussion of this just a few weeks ago. Search the previous 3 weeks archive for this issue. It was the same problem, little Honda dying when the cover is on, but running fine with it off.<br />Nav.

You more than likely have an exhaust leak. Check the powerhead base gasket for small amounts of smoke and/or water. Exhaust fumes will cause the motor to bog down with the cover on if there is an exhaust leak under the cover
