Need help with dt25

I have an susuki 25 hp that will run on the water hose in or out of gear reves up in gear and out. It also runs good in the water. Until I PUT IT IN GEAR. It will not run in gear. Please help.

what do you mean "will not run in gear"?
is he dieing or jumping out of gear?

when the motor is in the water and I put it in gear the engine will die. If out of the water and running on water hose and I put it in gear it will stay running

does it mater if you put forward or reverse gear?
did you try to choke on while die?
take out upper cower and try
in neutral can you operate ful trotle?

my suspicion is dirty carb or bad lower unit

Check compression and timing to make sure they are good.
If they are, then sounds like you have plugging in the carbs

out of the water I can put in both forward and reverse and yes I tried choking it a little, and still dies. but the motor runs good and reves up good until I put it in gear (in the water). I checked the compression and its good

i think the problem is lower unit

what could be wrong with lower unit it works good out of the water and it dont make any weird noises

can you post a video by you tube how your motor works?
as i understand motor mounted on boat, in neutral works good, idle fine and revs up and down just fine but hen you hit forward just die?
even if you twist trotle to higher rpm?
i think to diagnose the problem the best is a video

It is not getting enough fuel to produce the power needed when in gear in the water.
Clean the carbs and adjust like the service manual says after reinstalling

I concur. It is almost always lack of carburetor servicing. The carbs will need to be removed and stripped. Soak in Gunk carb and parts cleaner for an hour or so, rinse with fresh water and carefully blow dry with compressed air. Use short bursts so as to not damage the parts.Rebuild with new kits. You may need to use a small screw driver to break up any heavy deposits in the carb bowls. Be careful not to scratch the finish. Do NOT use spray carb cleaner as damage can result. Replace fuel hoses if you can. Use Marine Stabil religiously in your fuel from now on.
The DT25 and 30HP Suzuki motors are great quite exceptional.
