I have a chevy 305 vintage 1980 - 1985 in my boat. I have a set of heads with the casting number 14102193 sitting in my garage right now. I have searched the internet for this casting number and all it says is 350/305 swirl port heads for TBI motors. I am wondering if these would work on my 305 or if the combustion chamber is too big? Any advise will be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

What size are the original combustion chambers and what size are the replacements?
As the combustion chamber size increases, the compression ratio will decrease.

From what I have read the old ones are 58cc with 1.84/1.50 and the other ones are 64cc with 1.94/1.5

If you want to keep the same compression ratio, mill the heads.

Would the motor be a total dog if I just used the heads like they are without milling them down?
