I want to replace my trailer tires before a trip tomorrow, but I am not sure where to start looking. Everything I see online makes it appear that none of the stores will have them stocked. Any suggestions? I am going to call Walmart, Sears, and some of the local tire stores in the morning.

Doesn't pay to look online, just call 'em... Most farm supply stores will have trailer tires, and ALL tire specific places will have them on hand. Some marine dealers also carry tire/wheel assemblies if you want to buy the whole thing. (often not much more than just the tire.)

ok - hopefully someplace has an option. Bought the boat last year and only used the trailer a few times to bring the boat from the marina to the house and back to the marina. The marina is right down the street so no big deal. Didn't really think much about it until I started doing some research about different things to check before a 3-4 hour trip and then realized the tires are old - no signs of issues, but I know that doesn't mean anything.

I bought my spare here on iboats. But if you need one right away you can check any farm supply store or if you have a Menards in your area they should have them.

I found them at Walmart online - hopefully the website was accurate since it said that they were in stock. Not cheap though, but the tires on the trailer are 10 years old and just one less thing to worry about on my first road trip with the boat.

If you have a Firestone store, they should have them and most Sams stock the common tire sizes. If there is a tire store close to a Marina, that is where I would go since they have a good chance of servicing trailers for the marina.

I would be checking the condition of the wheel bearings also.........A flat tire on the side of the road is a minor pain, but a roached wheel bearing is a major pain.

If your desperate, depending on size, Harbor Freight may have them already mounted on wheels. I think I saw 2 different sizes there already mounted up. Wouldn't be my first choice, but if you need tires in a hurry and ones close by... Any port in a storm.

I am in Los Angeles and the 2 tires stores I work with have most trailer tires in stock or can get them in a matter of hours.

How close are you to a major city?

I was able to get them at Walmart and they guy said they normally have them stocked in case anyone finds this thread in the future. I am going to replace the bearings as well if I can today. I will definitely grease them though.

repacked the bearings - they look brand new. The guy who had it before me kept it at the same marina and used the trailer twice a year. The tires were 10 years old and still looked like brand new tread. I will replace the bearings in the fall to be sure.

No need to replace the bearings if they look new and there was no water intrusion.
