Need help removing starter on 86 Century

I am hoping to find a suggestion or help on removing a starter on a Century. My son thinks our only option is to unbolt and lift the motor. Please say it isn't so??!!

It might be helpful to know what model Century and what engine.

I just rebuilt my Chrysler 440b in my Century Resorter. The picture is attached showing the starter. Removing the 6 bolts on the water jacket, it can easily be removed allowing easy access to the starter. In my Resorter, it is close to the stringer but still quite accessible (when the water jacket is off).
