Hey,

I'm stuck trying to pull my flywheel on a 1987 35hp Mercury outboard. I took the center main nut off and put on a pully puller and tried to pry it up with that but it wouldn't budge. Are there other nuts and bolts I need to remove?

Thank you

A pulley puller is not designed for flywheel removal, it is used mainly for automotive alternator and power steering pump pressed on pulley removals.

Here are some good flywheel pullers.

So there is only the one nut to take off and it should come off? I just need the right puller? I really think a pully puller should have done the trick.

There is just the centre nut to come off and feel free to keep on using your puller, it is your engine.

Are you really using a pulley puller or a gear puller?

I don't know. My brotherin law said it was a pulley puller. I'm off to buy a flywheel puller. I tend to be hard headed sometimes :p
