Hey everyone got a question. So I got a 1977 Mercury 150 inline 6 and I got a 18 gal fuel tank. The mixture of gas and 2 stroke oil 50-1 ratio. Question is because I can’t seem to find any information on it how much oil needs to be added to a 18 gallon fuel tank?

2.6 ounces per gallon. If you were to put all 18 gallons in a one time it would take 18 X 2.6 = 46.8 ounces

Gee, 6 gal of gasoline needs 1 pint of 2 cycle oil. So 18 gal needs 3 pints of oil.

Buy yourself two 6 gal jerry cans (they are avail), and a shake-shake siphon hose. Add 1 pint of oil to a Jerry can and fill with 6 gal of gasoline. Now siphon the fuel in to fill your tank.

That motor is a thoroughbred. She has some real mid-range pulling power. Keep the fuel fresh and she will perform.
