Its a new to us family cruiser that we have had out for 2 weeks now. The engine runs fine but the fuel smell is really rich and starting to leave a residue on the water, so I figured it was time for a carb rebuild. Does anyone know the size of the flare nut that is attached to the carb and the size of the flare nut that is attached to the flare nut on the carb? Whoever tried to work on it before, really messed up both flare nuts so I am hoping to remove the carb to rebuild it and then put an OE line on it. The engine serial is 0C525595. As I said earlier, its a 1989 5.7L with a Rochester 4 barrel carb. The carb number is 1347-9662. I was thinking of replacing the line with standard fuel line, but was informed that was not Coast Guard compliant.

Correct, fuel lines on the engine need to be steel. OEM number for that line is 32-96081A1.
