installing gauges and now no spark. I have been upgrading this boat for about 3 months and I started replacing the gauges and now I have not spark. Are the gauges tied into the system and causing the no spark problem? I am a life long mechanic on autos and heavy equipment. but definitely not a boat engine mechanic. please help!

Sorry....turning over I take it.

Grounding wire is still grounded most likely. Race is correct. Unplug the red plug and see if it starts by jumping the solenoid.

That will prove that you are hooked up to the wrong wire maybe. Might be a non compatible tach.

Make it run, then you know it a control box issue.

I WILL TRY THAT / RIGHT NOW NO GUAGES ARE PLUGED IN. I THOUGHT THAT MAY BE THE PROBLEM.

Well you know it's not the engine or it's components. Not sure which wire your talking about but my next place would be the key switch.

But just in case you do old dumb things like me let's add, is it in neutral? And is the man overboard tether clipped into its spot?
