I need advice, I (stupidly) drained a fuel filter down the carb throat. Obviously I was not thinking. I estimate about 1 cup of fuel entered carb. My question is what should I do? I have not started the engine yet and am concerned about explosion or fuel in the oil. This happened about 12 hours ago. Help please.

Thanks, Bill
wsparadise@sbcglobal.net

Hi Bill

If you poured gas in the carb throat, it's now sitting in the cylinder. Remove the spark plugs and ground the plug wire leads to the block. Crank the engine over several times to expel the excess fuel. Put a towel over the spark plug holes to prevent the fuel from shooting all over the place. Replace the plugs and wires and wipe up any excess fuel and you should be good to go...

Thanks Rick, I appreciate the advice, I was planning on that and maybe changing the oil too just to be safe.
