Ok i have a 77 evinrude 70hp, never had trouble with it until now, its a 3 cyl, 2 cycle motor, compression is ok 120, 123, 118. Today i had a heck of a time gettin her to start, did the normal routine, check, prime, choke, wont start, pulled hood gave it another turn, nothing. starter is spinning fast, nothing out of the ordinary, after a few attempts, i opened the throttle all the way and let it sit thinking ok its flooded, came back 15 min later cranks on second try, it was flooded, ok leave the dock ease up to full throttle everythings ok runs good, next thing you know, a sputter like running out of gas, 2 full tanks, new clean properly mixed gas, all new fuel line, new fuel/water separator idle it down runs great at idle hit the gas again same thing gets on plane runnin good then the sputtering starts, shut it down pulled hood no visible problems, started back up on first bump only with alot of white smoke this time. Any ideas???

Check out your spark plugs, and if there is an inline fuel filter on your motor (usually under the motor cowling) check that out too.

Air intrusion in the new fuel line maybe?
If it has diaphram pumps like the Mercs you could have a hole in one of them.
