I have a 1989 Cuddy Cabin (Cabin Cruiser?) V-Hull with rails? Don't know much about it but that it has a 4 cyl mercruiser engine. The boat broke down in the water 5 years ago (just shut off) and has sat for 5 years.

I don't know where to start at all....the wires in the back that come in form the battery have no ends (all bare) and I have no clue which is to join neg post and which is to join positive post. How do I \even begin here.

I have taken the starter off and have cleaned it up and put it back on and the engine turns over fine and makes good compression.

I would love to get power (short) to the distributor and crank it over with a screwdriver just to hear it run...how do I do this. I have been working on cars and engines since 15 and am 48. I can rebuild anything that runs on the road (exc diesel) but have no clue where to begin on this boat. I want to run it down to Savannah from Augusta, GA one day but have no clue. Pls help if you can. Tks

You need to read the "ADULTS ONLY" sticky in the forum and download a manual and wiring diagram. It's going to be tough to help until you get educated on your drive, engine and how it's all wired up.
