Re: need help finding a rebuild kit

Those always looked like nice little engines.
Have been looking for one for 10 years, but I don't think they were sold here in the US.

Kind of a rare motor, only manufactured in 1996-1998.

Can't help you on parts, except to refer you to a Mercury dealer, which I know will be expensive.

Here is a link to a Merc dealer that sells parts for that motor online.

Re: need help finding a rebuild kit

we finally got the pull the engine apart today we took off the head and noticed a hole in the head gasket see picture the square white mark the red arrow is pointing to is the position of the hole my cousin still wants me to pull the powerhead down and rebuild it with new parts so could this be the problem for the low compression in 2 cylinders? out of the 3 cylinders (picture is 4 cylinder head gasket i found online)

Re: need help finding a rebuild kit

the original gasket has no holes for the cooling water it has a port at the top and a port at the bottom no holes in between other than head bolt holes

Re: need help finding a rebuild kit

powerheadkit.com lists complete rebuild kits for most all outboards.
