Need Help Bad!!! 60 Hp Mariner

I Have A 60 Hp Mariner 89 Model. The Motor Runs Fine Kind-of When Hooked Up To Water Hose But Not Under A Load In The Water, Will Run 5mph .i Have Found That 1 Out Of The 3 Plugs Has No Spark Or Tryes To Spark But It Is A Weak Spark Then Won T Fire At All. The Plug Is New. Could This Be A Coil Or What Should I Try First.

I am not very well versed on the ignition system of these motors yet, but just a thought have you tried swapping plugs. It would not be the first time I saw a new plug die within an hour or less. Not a commmon problem but it does happen.

I don't know the Mariners but If there is a coil for each cylinder you may be able to swap coils and see if problem follows.
