the plate containing the model number has fallen off since our engine is at least 20 years old. There appear to be no other identifying marks that lead to model year ID. The stator has a 5828971 stamped on it, but there are no parts associated with that number. the block number is 395345

Attached are some pictures of our engine to help.

Bottom line - how different are stators year over year? How about for different amperage? (We did look up model numbers and they change year over year)

if you look in you're fourth picture you will see a silver coloured plug in the top left hand corner. Find that plug. The model number is usually stamped into the plug. For what its worth it looks like a mid 80's motor. 85, 86, 87 would be my guess.

Looks like an early production '84 motor that uses stator #582867 which is now #583672.

Unfortunately on our engine, that's the block number there.
