I am trying to find a carb rebuild kit for my 1993 Larson 170. It has a 4.3 V6 Mercruiser with engine s/n 0F074116. The engine is stamped GM 14097289. If there is a number on the carb itself, I have been unable to find it but it is a 2 bbl. I am hoping the engine s/n is enough. The boat runs pretty good but hesitates upon full throttle which makes it tough to pull up an adult on one ski. I have replaced plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and fuel filters. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance. Jeff

Howdy,

Welcome aboard!

I think you might need a Mercury 9437 If your carb is a Mercarb.

You can buy the Sierra equivalent here. http://www.iboats.com/Carburetor-Ki...6670472--session_id.767066646--view_id.187704

If you you use your serial number with a search-able Mercruiser part site you'll find the right Mercury carb with pictures.. (I found Mercury 9437 which crosses to Sierra 18-7095

Napa also sells Sierra.

Rick

One last question...I found the 9437 kit you guys recommended for the Mercarb. However, one site I found said the 9437 had had been superceded by 3302-804845. The 804845 seems like it may be a more generic kit for multiple models but wondered if you thought this was the only difference. Thanks again for the advice.
