need age of 35 hp Merc

greetings,<br /><br />I'm trying to determine the age of my 35hp Mercury outboard engine.<br />The serial number is 6446565.<br />My local parts dealer could not give me the age, but did say that the model number is 1035524.<br />Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.<br />Thank you.<br /><br />Steve
