Okay here it goes. I am trying to mount an extra long shaft motor onto a shorter transom. In doing so I need to extend the motor mount to roughly 7 inches above it's currently level. The attachment site on the motor is already 6 inches above the transom mount anyway. So bottom line is : from the pully mounts on the on the aft sides to the mounts on the Motor are a 12 inch height difference over a 2 foot distance. Now I could possibly craft a drop bracket to mount on the front of the motor, but would rather not if I can keep from it ( I think it might interfere with how much I can tilt the motor when traveling ). I just haven't had much experience with these old pulley systems and don't want to be doing any more trial and error than I have to.
