I'll soon be trailering a project boat back home that's equipped with a 3 cyl 60 HP Mariner but it has not been run in 4 years.
What should I do to make sure I don't hurt it in my attempt to bring it back to life?
I don't know the exact year of manufacture but once I do I will be purchasing a service manual for it. I'm a skilled mechanic and 28 year machinist so I want to do as much work as possible on it myself.
Is there some inspecting that I can do to help me prepare it for a restart after a long hibernation? Yes, it has been out in the weather for those 4 years. But it's in the moderate climate of South Carolina.
I need all the info I can get on this particular outboard.
Thanks,
Bill
PS, it's on a 16' Tri-hull Thundercraft that's in restorable condition.
