Hey folks,

I need some advice on my families next boat purchase. I am trying to find a boat that will fit my families needs. My #1 need is fishability. My families #1 need is cruising comfort. I am looking for a 30-40 footer with twin engines. I have considered walk-arounds, cuddy cabins, and (my preference)center consoles. I need something that can confortably ride 8 people, but can fish with the best of them. I have seen several center consoles with a fold down seat in the back. This may be an option. So give me some ideas.

Thanks,

chesapeakesam

The Center Console and Walk-Arounds sound great. I don't really have any recommendations for you but I'd sure like to see pictures of the boat you settle on! :D

30-40 ft Fishing Boat......Eeeh, thats a lot of real estate to maintain! Did you say you... have or had... time to do some fishing?

Fishability + Family Amentities = Compromise
For the price you will be spending on something 40 ft with twin power, have you considered buying one boat for serious fishing and another for family fun and enjoyment?

Anyhow,
I was at a show in the spring where a dealer was trying to unload something as what you indicated. It was around a 30-35ft fountain powered by twin optimax's. They said it was a special order for a group of guys partnering the purchase which ended up falling through with the dealer left holding the bag. I believe they were selling it at something to the tune of 85 or 90 grand, which was very low for this kind of boat. Fountain makes some nice boats in the size range which you are considering.

Kevin
