Need advice about reupholstering combing pads

Just bought our first SeaRay 1979 Express Cruiser and we are doing a bunch of work in it. Thankfully it is mechanically sound but we want to fix the seats, flooring and combing pads. Any suggestions/help on doing this and if it is something simple to do? We much rather do all the work ourselves and not pay $$$ for it to be done. Thanks for ANY help!!! 8)

Re: Need advice about reupholstering combing pads

I replaced the lounge seats on '83 Express Cruiser last year. Check out www.overtons.com for a wide selection and good prices. Replacement was way cheaper than getting them re-done.
If by combing pads you mean the padded side panels, mine needed reupholstered AND rebuilt and I opted to not replace them. Instead, I installed LEDs in the holes in the fiberglass and now have a slick night time lounge in the rear of the boat. LEDs are pretty cheap, come in many colors, and draw squat for power. Www.westmarine.com has a pretty good selection.
For flooring, I know you need to use MARINE GRADE plywood or you're wasting your time.
I know this isn't exactly what you asked, but you did say ANY help.
Have fun.
