Need advice about bimini

Just starting out on renovation and in order to accommodate furniture layout, we switched around the fencing, which worked out great! However, it's interfering with bimini cover due to the main bar placement. Basically, the bimini rail would need to be mounted on the door which isn't feasible. Anyone have an idea of getting around this? Move it up or back? Maybe do away with bimini and get a sun shade? Our boat is strictly for tooling around our small lake, so it's not a huge deal other than wanting shade. Thank you!

Yup, been here. There's always some sort of compromise when working on a project like that one. What about going with a longer bimini (maybe a 10')?

We can see how it looks if we move the mounting hardware, but we are trying to not purchase any more new stuff. Just got all new seats yikes.

I like that, esp because I would like to add solar panels. But I think that may be more than we are willing to spend - a cursory check looks like $3K which is more than we paid for the pontoon.
