The boat runs great all day, then when its time to get back to the dock it will stumble just for a brief second and then it just dies like its a fuel isue. It will start right back upand i am able to go again. But now it will run great for 10 min 2min 15min andjust dies like its a fuel isue. After doing that several times it doesent wanna start up . Let it sit for a lil while it will fire back up and underway i go again , but not for long because it just keeps dieing.

I had Carb rebuilt and same thing , no difference. I want to just get a brand new Carb and go from there. I am not haveing any luck finding one so i thought i would try finding one online. Any ideas or suggestions would be great. Thank you,

The motor is a 305 MerCruiser 200 hp

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,....... There's Alot more to the fuel delivery system than just the carb ya know,......

Is this the 2bbl, or 4bbl. carb used in '85,..?? probably a rochester either way,....

Have ya checked the contents of the fuel filter for clues,..??
Ya might have crud, 'n crap in the tank,....
Is the fuel tank allowin' the fuel pump to pull it's fuel,..??
Is the fuel pump, pumpin' to 4 to 6 psi at the carb's inlet,..??

most people who do not turn wrenches for a hobby or a living generally never get a carb clean enough when they rebuild them

check the things that Bondo mentioned.

fuel pressure
filter contents (replace filter, never reuse)
anti-siphon valve
tank vent

Hi, so i emptyed the tank and there is some crap in there. The tank is empty nowi dont want to cut a hole in floor to pull tank out. Can i use air to blow the crap out?And will a fuel preasure test kit work to check if its pumping the 4,6 lbs at the inlet?

dont overlook the tank vent line. A clog there will restrict fuel
