Hello: Since my winch is totally rusted out, I want to buy a new winch. This is for a 16' bayliner capri, Gross weight 2,200+/- pounds, I think.

I found one that is rated for 1,200 pounds.

Will that work? If not, what weight do I need?

Thanks!

MAX

Get the winch set that is equal to or more than your boats weight. Between $69 and $100 for the complete set. Here's an example.

Road-Warrior - 2-Speed Galvanized 2500lb.Trailer Winch - Includes 35' Stainless Cable and eyehook $99.99 This 2500 lb. capacity, 2-way ratchet, galvanized trailer winch has a 4-1 gear ratio, solid gear construction, and a smooth turning roller grip handle. Includes 35' stainless steel cable and galvanized hook. Salt water tested and includes a 5 year manufacturer's warranty!
