about to finish my latest project.

Should I put the floor flanges aka feet on them or no?

Looks cool both ways ! Floor flanges with maybe some felt on the bottom would probably be sturdier ...

No flange for carpet if the legs don't cut carpet and flanges with rubber or felt for non-carpet.

Flanges and covering of the bottom to protect the floor. BTW they are really cool!

its a garage....

I went with feet. The results from two other places i put it were almost a dead heat and I liked it with feet.

The two end tables. Note they fit to each other. It was two maple trees that started out next to each other then split.

these had been cut for a couple years so pretty sure the bark will stay on, plus there is about 100 finish brad nails in there

the coffee table appears to be a couple slices lower down the trunk, but you can see that middle split where the two grew together. The bark on this was mostly gone but a spot or two tight on that I left.

I love both but if I had to choose I would go with the one on the left side of your 1st pic. Without the 4 bolt flange on the bottom of the plumbing. Too much plumbing takes the eye away from the table in my opinion. I might suggest less fittings in the future. Just my take Joe.

I made a similar coffee table for a pal from a slice of a 80 year old Ash 3 feet in diameter, at least 80 years old, we had cut down. I have a piece enough to make at least 4 more from the bottom of the tree trunk I saved. I don't think those live edge tables will ever go out of style, not for everyone though. The most beautiful table I have ever seen is at a pals cabin in northern Ontario. It is 4 feet wide and 8 feet long. Made from a hundred year plus old Maple that fell on his property. It is magnificent to say the least. He made the base from the large branches from the tree as did I for my buddies table. Something you might want to think about in the future vs. the plumbing nipples and elbows.

Yeah thought about the wood legs but haven ran across anything that would work. Big rounds like this is fairly uncommon, they mostly have slabs which is my next project but I'll save that for another thread.
