Your best bet would be to go to a professional welder and have him/her weld it up or if you can weld and trust your own work then more power to you.

Here is one place that I found a 14 inch drop.

12inch -18 inch Ball Mounts

Many drawbars and receivers have very sloppy fits. With that much drop, you might want to add a chain and turnbuckle or binder from each end of the bumper down to the lowest point of the drawbar.

Otherwise you might see a lot of side to side movement as well as up and down.

KMK, the drop down you noted is not rated for his load. i think you need to see a welder and have a hitch specially made that has the drop built in the hitch, and bracing back to the frame of the truck, it's going to take a beefy hitch to handle that load, and you want it transfered as far forward and low, with the vehicle being so high. in an emergency stop i can see that load, pushing the tail of the truck sideways, and rolling the truck.

Well after remeasuring things it looks like i might get away with a 8" drop.I'll know better tonight when i install the new receiver on the truck. The only good thing is it's only about 4 miles to the local lake so no need to hit 55 mph to get there..

Not with my current truck...lol I built that truck when gas was under a buck a gallon. It get's about 3 miles to gallon and that's only if your coasting and going downhill..lol..My buddy who is a welder is going to hook me up.Were going to weld 4" channel directly to the trucks frame then weld the hitch to the channel. That way i only need a 4 drop hitch

I think the lift and the huge tires have severely compromised your truck's safe towing ability, Lime.

Even if it is "rated" for 10,000lb in stock trim I wouldn't try to tow 8,000lb with it.

Just guessing but I imagine you still have the stock brakes.
Stock truck had maybe 30" dia. tires and the towing capacity (pulling as well as stopping) was based on that tire height.
With 38" tall tires you have decreased the braking ability since the lever length from axle to ground is now greater.

27%, greater which the trailered load is using against the brakes.

And the 38" tires are also no doubt wider than stock which will increase floatation. So on a slippery wet road might allow the trailer to push the truck cause the truck has less psi on the ground.

when they put those 20 inch wheels on pimped out cars, the change the brakes to account for them to super heavy duty calipers, the red ones.

The following things are changed:

Center of gravity height.
Final drive ratio.
Braking force.

Your truck has been specialized away from towing.

Yea right, NOT AROUND HERE.
The priorities around here are
1. Super big wheels and tires.
2. Super bright paint job.
3. Lay seats back as far as possible.
4. Reupolster the interior in shag zebra.

Hey Lime, if you still want to do it this weekend, I can come up and get it with my 2500 Suburban and we'll haul her to the lake.
